Method
For the Shrimp
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Shrimp
Dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- 5
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully place the breaded shrimp in the hot oil, cooking them in batches if necessary. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- 6
Drain the Shrimp
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried shrimp to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
For the Cocktail Sauce
- 7
Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well mixed.
- 8
Serve
Serve the fried shrimp hot with the homemade cocktail sauce on the side.
