Burger Patty

Blackened Prime Rib

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Blackened Prime Rib

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat a grill or cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot.

  2. 4

    Season the Prime Rib

Rub the prime rib steak with olive oil and then coat it generously with Cajun seasoning on all sides.

  3. 5

    Cook the Prime Rib

Place the seasoned prime rib on the hot grill or skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.

  4. 6

    Rest the Meat

Remove the prime rib from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 7

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet or on the grill, cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side. Add a slice of jack cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 9

    Build the Burger

Spread dijonnaise sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a generous portion of the sliced blackened prime rib. Top with the other half of the bun.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve the blackened prime rib burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
