Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the baby back ribs for better texture and flavor absorption.

  2. 2

    Seasoning

Rub the ribs generously with Misty's BBQ spice, salt, and black pepper. Make sure to coat both sides.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 3

    Smoking the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs in a smoker at 225°F (107°C) for 4-5 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 20 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Glazing the Ribs

  1. 6

    Apply BBQ Sauce

In the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the ribs with the prepared BBQ sauce, reserving some for serving.

  2. 7

    Finish Cooking

Continue to smoke the ribs until they reach the desired glaze and temperature (approximately 195°F to 203°F internal temperature).

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the reserved BBQ sauce on the side.
