Beef Marinade

Spicy Lime Dressing

Method

Beef Marinade and Cooking

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes. Add flank steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the flank steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Salad Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, sliced cucumber, and thinly sliced red onion. Add fresh mint and cilantro leaves, and toss gently to mix.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Spicy Lime Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, red chili flakes, and water until the sugar is dissolved and the dressing is well combined.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Salad

Slice the grilled flank steak against the grain into thin strips. Top the salad with the sliced steak and drizzle with the spicy lime dressing. Toss gently to combine and serve immediately.
