Vegetable Filling

House Plum Sauce

Method

Vegetable Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated carrots, shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, chopped green onions, and minced garlic.

  2. 2

    Season the Filling

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to the vegetable mixture. Toss well to combine and evenly coat the vegetables with the seasonings. Set aside.

Rolling the Pohpia

  1. 3

    Prepare the Wrappers

Lay one spring roll wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Place about 2 tablespoons of the vegetable filling in the center of the wrapper.

  2. 4

    Roll the Wrapper

Fold the bottom of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to form a spring roll. Use a dab of water to seal the edge. Repeat for all wrappers.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Pohpia

Carefully place the rolled pohpia into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

House Plum Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the plum sauce, rice vinegar, and chili paste. Stir until well combined.
