Filling
Wontons
Method
Filling Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth.
Wonton Assembly
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water using your finger.
- 3
Seal the Wontons
Fold the wrapper over to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges firmly to seal. Ensure there are no air bubbles inside. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
Cooking
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wontons
Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil in small batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Use a slotted spoon to turn them occasionally.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once fried, remove the wontons from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with dipping sauce if desired.
