Noodles

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 12 oz of Ba Mee egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Protein

While the noodles are cooking, slice the chicken breast into thin strips. If using shrimp, ensure they are peeled and deveined.

  3. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

Wash and chop the broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Stir-Fry the Protein

In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken breast and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through. If using shrimp, add them after the chicken is almost cooked, and stir-fry until they turn pink.

  2. 5

    Add the Vegetables

Add the minced garlic, broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 6

    Make the Sauce

In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Pour this sauce over the stir-fried protein and vegetables, mixing to combine.

  4. 7

    Combine with Noodles

Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together, ensuring the noodles are well coated with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, and garnish with sliced green onions and chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the dish.
