Method

Pizza Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sauce

In a bowl, crush the San Marzano tomatoes by hand, adding salt and a drizzle of olive oil. Mix well and set aside.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to its highest setting (usually around 250°C or 482°F) and place a pizza stone inside if you have one.

  3. 3

    Shape the Dough

On a floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a round shape, about 10-12 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Pizza

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Tear the buffalo mozzarella into pieces and distribute them over the sauce.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza to the hot oven (or onto the pizza stone). Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 6

    Add Fresh Basil

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and scatter fresh basil leaves over the top. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and season with black pepper.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

Let the pizza cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot.
