Fried Banana Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bananas
Peel the ripe bananas and cut them diagonally into thick slices, about 1 inch wide.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water while whisking until you achieve a smooth batter with a consistency similar to pancake batter.
Cooking
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small amount of batter into it; if it sizzles and rises, it’s ready.
- 4
Fry the Bananas
Dip each banana slice into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Carefully place them into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the fried bananas from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon for added flavor before serving.
