Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak the Dried Pollack

Place the dried pollack in a bowl and cover it with water. Let it soak for about 30 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the pollack is soaking, slice the Korean radish into thin pieces, chop the green onions, and mince the garlic.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Add Ingredients to the Pot

Once the water is boiling, add the soaked dried pollack, sliced Korean radish, minced garlic, and soy sauce into the pot.

  3. 5

    Season the Soup

Add salt and black pepper to the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 6

    Simmer the Soup

Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  5. 7

    Add Optional Ingredients

If using, add cubed tofu and sliced chili pepper to the pot. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

  6. 8

Finish with Green Onions and Sesame Oil

Before serving, stir in the chopped green onions and sesame oil for added flavor.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Soup

Ladle the hot dried pollack soup into bowls and enjoy! Optionally, serve with steamed rice.
