Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours.
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F or 190°C to 200°C).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Prepare the Garnish
While the chicken is grilling, chop the green onions and toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Once the chicken is done, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and serve it drizzled with extra teriyaki sauce, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
