Fried Gator Ingredients
Method
Directions
- 1
Marinate the Alligator
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the cubed alligator meat, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In another bowl, mix together the cornstarch, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat and Fry the Alligator
Remove the marinated alligator from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Carefully place the coated alligator pieces into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 4-6 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried gator from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with 45 Sauce on the side.
