1. Muddle the Blackberries
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh blackberries until they are well crushed.
2. Add Remaining Ingredients
Add fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, bourbon or rye whiskey, and the egg white to the shaker.
3. Dry Shake
Seal the shaker and dry shake (without ice) for about 15 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
4. Shake with Ice
Add ice to the shaker and shake again for about 20 seconds until well chilled.
5. Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a fresh blackberry on top.
