Cocktail Ingredients

Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Sugar

In an old-fashioned glass, place the sugar cube and add 1 teaspoon of water. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to mash the sugar until it dissolves.

  2. 2

    Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the glass with the muddled sugar.

  3. 3

    Add Bourbon

Pour in 2 ounces of bourbon and stir gently to combine the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with large ice cubes. Stir the mixture again to chill and dilute slightly.

  5. 5

    Garnish

Express the oils from a piece of orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist. Then drop the peel into the cocktail. Optionally, add a maraschino cherry for garnish.
