Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
Chicken Preparation
- 2
Cook the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breast with salt and black pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Alfredo Sauce
In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
Combine Ingredients
- 4
Combine Pasta, Chicken, and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine and sliced chicken to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to combine, ensuring the pasta and chicken are well coated with the sauce. Heat for an additional minute to warm through.
Serve
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Serve the Chicken Alfredo hot, garnished with chopped parsley on top. Enjoy!
