Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Flavorings

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes. Mince the garlic cloves and add them as well.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Drizzle 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil over the tomato mixture. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and black pepper to taste. Gently toss everything together until well combined.

Grilling the Bread

  1. 4

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 5

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.

  3. 6

    Grill the Bread

Place the bread slices on the grill or skillet and toast for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Top the Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy!
