Method

Prepare Lasagna Noodles

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make Meat Sauce

  1. 2

    Sauté the Meat

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.

  2. 3

    Add the Meats

Add ground beef and ground pork to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spatula.

  3. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare Ricotta Cheese Mixture

  1. 5

    Mix Ricotta Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until well combined.

Assemble Lasagna

  1. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom. Place a layer of noodles, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, and then more meat sauce. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.

  2. 7

    Add Cheese Topping

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top layer.

Bake the Lasagna

  1. 8

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  2. 9

    Cool and Serve

Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
