Method
Prepare Meatballs
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Form Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into balls about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Chill Meatballs
Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate the meatballs for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
Prepare Sauce
- 4
Sauté Onions
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- 5
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

- 6
Bake Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the chilled meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- 7
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the simmering sauce in the skillet. Stir gently to coat the meatballs with the sauce. Let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
