Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix the ingredients until combined, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Prepare Baking Surface

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 2 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a 12-inch round on a floured surface.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Spread about 0.75 cups of pizza sauce on each dough round, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle 1.5 cups of mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Top each pizza with your desired toppings: pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onion, and olives. Sprinkle with dried oregano and basil.

  5. 9

    Bake the Pizzas

Transfer the pizzas to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 10

    Slice and Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice each pizza into 8 smaller pieces and serve hot.
