Method
Prepare the Filling
- 1
Rinse the Rice
In a fine mesh strainer, rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.

In a large bowl, combine the rinsed rice, sautéed onions, chopped parsley, dill, mint, chopped tomato, remaining olive oil, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Prepare the Grape Leaves
Lay a grape leaf flat on a clean surface, with the stem end facing you. If the leaves are too stiff, you can briefly blanch them in boiling water for 30 seconds to soften.

Stuff the Leaves
Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the filling at the base of the leaf. Fold the sides over the filling and then roll from the base to the tip, creating a tight roll. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
