Method

Making the Torte

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the wildberries gently.

  5. 5

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool

Allow the torte to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Making the Chantilly Cream

  1. 7

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it starts to thicken.

  2. 8

    Add Sugar and Vanilla

Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue whipping until soft peaks form.

Assembling the Torte

  1. 9

    Serve

Slice the cooled torte and serve with a dollop of chantilly cream on top, garnished with fresh berries and mint leaves.
