Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turnips

Preheat your grill or oven to high heat. Wash and peel the turnips, then cut them into wedges.

  2. 2

    Make the Garlic Chile Oil

In a small saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red chile flakes, cooking until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. 3

    Char the Turnips

Toss the turnip wedges with the garlic chile oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill or roast the turnips for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and tender.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Lemon Aioli

In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, and egg yolk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Plate the Dish

Arrange the charred turnips on a serving plate. Drizzle with lemon aioli, sprinkle with chopped almonds and crispy onions, and serve immediately.
