Method

Burger Patties Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Turkey Patty Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, lightly grease it with cooking oil.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the turkey patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side, then flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked turkey patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and desired condiments (ketchup and mustard). Top with the other half of the bun.
