Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground Angus beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the beef.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal parts and shape each part into a patty, approximately 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the patty on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and place the slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

While the patty is cooking, slice the burger bun in half and toast it lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Top with tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the toppings.
