Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Slice Vegetables

Thinly slice the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Season the ribeye steak with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned ribeye steak to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your preferred doneness is reached. Remove from skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.

Sautéing Vegetables

  1. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened and lightly caramelized.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Slice the Steak

Once the steak has rested, slice it thinly against the grain.

  2. 6

    Build the Sandwich

Place the sliced steak on the sub rolls, top with sautéed vegetables, and finish with slices of provolone cheese.

Melting the Cheese

  1. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Remove from the broiler, let cool for a minute, and serve hot.
