Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Scallops

Rinse the fresh sea scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Ensure they are completely dry for better searing.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves using a knife or a garlic press.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Rinse the fresh parsley under cold water, shake off excess water, and chop it finely.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.

  2. 5

    Sear the Scallops

Season the scallops with salt and black pepper. Place the scallops in the skillet, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Sear them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 6

    Add Garlic and Lemon

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then, add the lemon juice and chopped parsley, stirring to combine.

  4. 7

    Combine and Serve

Return the scallops to the skillet to coat them with the garlic-lemon sauce. Cook for an additional minute, then remove from heat and serve immediately.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Serve the scallops on a plate, garnished with microgreens or arugula. Add lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
