Burger Patty

Portobello Mushroom Sauce

Toppings and Assembly

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the Angus ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into a burger patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burger Patty

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Portobello Mushroom Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Portobello Mushrooms

Add the sliced portobello mushrooms to the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and have released their moisture.

  3. 5

    Add Red Wine and Seasoning

Pour the red wine into the pan, scraping the bottom to deglaze. Add chopped thyme, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Toppings and Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom half of the Portuguese roll. Top with a generous amount of the portobello mushroom sauce and a slice of mozzarella cheese. Cover with the top half of the roll.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the Portabello Burger immediately, with your choice of sides.
