Method

Preparing the Lemonade

  1. 1

    Wash Lemons

Wash the lemons thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or wax.

  2. 2

    Juice Lemons

Cut the lemons in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or by hand until you have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 4 cups of water.

  4. 4

    Dissolve Sugar

Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.

Adding Cherry Flavoring (Optional)

  1. 5

    Add Cherry Syrup

If you want to make Cherry Lemonade, add 1 cup of cherry syrup to the lemonade mixture and stir well.

  2. 6

    Add Fresh Cherries

For an extra fruity flavor, you can also add fresh cherries to the pitcher, either halved or whole.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Over Ice

Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the lemonade over the ice.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with a slice of lemon or a cherry on top if desired and serve immediately.
