Preparation of Lemonade Base

Juicing the Lemons
Cut the fresh lemons in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or by hand. You should get about 1 cup of lemon juice.

Mixing the Lemonade Base
In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 4 cups of water. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

If you want to create cherry lemonade, add 1 cup of cherry juice to the lemonade mixture and stir until well combined.

Add maraschino cherries to the mixture for extra flavor and a fun garnish.
Freezing and Serving

Freezing the Mixture
Pour the lemonade mixture into ice cube trays or a shallow dish and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until solid.

Once frozen, break the lemonade into chunks and place them in a blender. Blend until slushy and smooth.
