Method

Prepare Lobster Filling

  1. 1

    Cook and Prepare Lobster

If using whole lobsters, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lobsters and cook for about 8-10 minutes until bright red and cooked through. Remove from pot and let cool. Once cooled, remove the meat from the claws and tail, and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Mix Lobster Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped lobster meat, mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and chopped dill. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Prepare Rolls

  1. 3

    Butter the Rolls

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Slice the New England-style rolls down the center without cutting all the way through. Open the rolls and place them in the skillet, cut side down. Toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 4

    Fill the Rolls

Once the rolls are toasted, remove them from the skillet. Generously fill each roll with the chilled lobster mixture.

  2. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the lobster rolls with lemon wedges and a sprig of fresh dill for garnish. Enjoy immediately!
