Method

Preparation of Clams

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the fresh clams under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Scrub the shells gently with a brush if needed.

  2. 2

    Cook the Clams

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the cleaned clams, salt, and black pepper. Cover the pot and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up. Discard any clams that do not open.

  3. 3

    Add Flavor

Once the clams are cooked, remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Mix well to combine the flavors.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Rolls

Slice each soft roll in half, but do not cut all the way through. Lightly toast the insides if desired.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Clam Rolls

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each roll. Spoon the clam mixture generously onto the lettuce, ensuring an even distribution of clams and juices.

  3. 6

    Serve

Close the rolls and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy your clam rolls with a side of lemon wedges if desired.
