Chili Sauce Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine the Sauce Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the tomato paste, water, red chili powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Add Vinegar and Vegetables

Stir in the apple cider vinegar, finely chopped green bell pepper, and chopped cilantro into the sauce mixture. Ensure the bell pepper and cilantro are evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add more salt or sugar to balance the flavors according to your preference.

  4. 4

    Refrigerate

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the chili sauce for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. This sauce can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
