Preparation of Hot Dogs

Boiling the Hot Dogs
Fill a medium-sized pot with water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, add the hot dogs and cook for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.

Preparing the Buns
While the hot dogs are cooking, slice the hot dog buns open lengthwise but not all the way through. Place them in a warm oven or steamer to keep them soft and warm.

Making the Cheese Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the milk and stir to combine. Gradually add the cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assembling the Cheese Dog
Once the hot dogs are cooked, place each hot dog into a prepared bun. Generously pour the melted cheese sauce over the top of each hot dog. Serve immediately while hot.
