Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a patty about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill/Pan

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the turkey patty on the grill or skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty and cover to let it melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

Toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, layer with lettuce, the cooked turkey patty with melted cheese, tomato slice, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  3. 8

    Finish Assembly

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled burger. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
