Method

Preparation of Turkey Burger

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Once combined, divide the mixture into equal parts and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1/2 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Add the turkey patties to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and cook for another 5-6 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

While the turkey burgers are cooking, slice the hamburger bun in half. You may toast it lightly in a separate pan if desired.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Place the cooked turkey patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slice, cheddar cheese, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
