Burger Patty
Burger Assembly
Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
- 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground bison meat, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat to keep the burger tender.
- 2
Form the mixture into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of the patty to help it cook evenly.
Cook the Burger Patty
- 3
- 4
Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
Assemble the Burger
- 5
While the patty is cooking, toast the burger bun lightly if desired.
- 6
Once the patty is cooked, place it on the bottom half of the bun.
- 7
Layer the lettuce leaves, tomato slices, onion slice, and cheddar cheese (if using) on top of the patty.
- 8
Serve
- 9
Serve the bison burger immediately with your choice of sides, such as fries or a salad.
