Burger Patties

Toppings

Method

Preparation of Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix and Shape Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix with your hands until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 2

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, add the bacon strips and cook until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Grill or Pan-Fry Patties

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Cooking the Eggs

  1. 4

    Fry the Eggs

In a separate non-stick skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook sunny-side up or to your preferred doneness, about 2-3 minutes.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Build the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly if desired. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, the fried egg, and a slice of tomato. Drizzle with ketchup and place the top half of the bun on top.
