Sandwich Ingredients

Paprika Aioli

Method

Preparing the Paprika Aioli

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, smoked paprika, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix well until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Season the Aioli

Add salt and black pepper to the aioli mixture to taste. Adjust seasoning as needed and set aside.

Preparing the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and tender. Set aside.

  3. 5

    Caramelize the Onion

If using raw onions, slice one medium onion and add it to the skillet. Cook on low heat until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside.

  4. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

On one slice of bread, spread a generous amount of paprika aioli, then layer with smoked turkey, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and finally top with slices of Gruyere cheese. Spread a little more aioli on the second slice of bread and place it on top.

  5. 7

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat the skillet over medium-low heat. Grill the sandwich on both sides for about 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
