Dough and Filling

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly. Then, add the melted butter, eggs, salt, and orange zest. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

  2. 2

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Prepare Filling

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to create the filling.

  4. 4

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

  5. 5

    Add Filling

Spread the filling evenly over the rolled dough. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.

  6. 6

    Cut and Second Rise

Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Let the buns cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Morning Buns warm!
