Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the yellow onion thinly. In a skillet over medium heat, melt half the butter. Add the onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes, until they are golden brown and caramelized.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the sliced cremini mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Cook the Beef Patty

In a separate skillet, heat the remaining butter over medium-high heat. Season the Angus beef patty with salt and pepper. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Place the Swiss cheese on top of the patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Patty Melt

Spread Russian dressing on the bottom half of the brioche bun. Layer with the beef patty topped with melted Swiss cheese, followed by the sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Grill the Patty Melt

In the same skillet used for the beef patty, place the assembled burger and grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the bun is toasted and golden.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve warm with your favorite side.
