Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
- 3
Mix the Batter
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until pale and slightly thickened. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir until well combined. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just incorporated.
- 4
Fill the Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 5
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate, allowing the cake to release. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
