Mac and Cheese

Method

Preparation

1

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue to cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

3

Add Cheese

Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and monterey jack cheeses until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

4

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.

5

Top with Burnt Ends

Spoon the mac and cheese into a serving dish and top generously with burnt ends.
