Method
Preparing the Shrimp
- 1
Boil the Shrimp
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the jumbo shrimp and cook for 3-5 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
- 2
Cool the Shrimp
Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the boiling water and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.
Making the Cocktail Sauce
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- 4
Taste and Adjust
Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more horseradish for heat or more ketchup for sweetness.
Serving
- 5
Plate the Shrimp
Arrange the cooled shrimp on a serving platter or individual cocktail glasses.
- 6
Serve with Sauce
Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
