Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Take the 12 oz ribeye steak and pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps achieve a better sear.

  2. 2

    Apply Olive Oil

Rub 1 tablespoon of olive oil over both sides of the ribeye steak to ensure it does not stick to the grill and helps with browning.

  3. 3

    Season Generously

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder evenly over both sides of the steak, pressing lightly to adhere the seasoning.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F) for around 10-15 minutes to ensure it is hot enough to sear the steak.

  2. 5

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving it to achieve a good sear.

  3. 6

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak carefully and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side for medium-rare doneness. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.

Resting

  1. 7

    Let it Rest

Remove the ribeye steak from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly grilled ribeye!
