Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Crust Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Make sure it’s evenly distributed.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool while you prepare the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Filling Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, and lime zest until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

  2. 6

    Fill the Crust

Pour the lime filling into the cooled graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly.

  3. 7

    Bake the Pie

Return the pie to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly firm to the touch.

  4. 8

    Cool the Pie

Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until well chilled.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Make the Whipped Cream

In a medium bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar together with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

  2. 10

    Top the Pie

Spread the whipped cream over the chilled pie. Sprinkle with additional lime zest for garnish.
