Stuffed Mushrooms

Cajun Cream Sauce

Method

Stuffed Mushrooms Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Mushrooms

Clean the Portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems. Set the caps aside and finely chop the stems.

  3. 3

    Sauté Aromatics

In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped shallots. Sauté until they are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Filling

In a large bowl, combine the sautéed garlic and shallots with the chopped mushroom stems, blue crab meat, breadcrumbs, cream cheese, chopped parsley, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  5. 5

    Stuff the Mushrooms

Fill each Portobello mushroom cap generously with the crab mixture, pressing it down slightly to ensure it holds together.

  6. 6

    Bake the Mushrooms

Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the mushrooms are tender.

Cajun Cream Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, and garlic powder. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 8

    Season the Sauce

Add salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting the spice level as desired.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Once the mushrooms are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the Cajun cream sauce over the stuffed mushrooms before serving.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
