Toppings

Method

Pecan Crust

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the pecans, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Bake the crust

Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish or tart pan. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.

Filling

  1. 3

    Prepare the filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.

  2. 4

    Whip the cream

In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated.

  3. 5

    Fill the crust

Pour the filling into the cooled pecan crust, spreading it evenly. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.

Sea Salt Caramel

  1. 6

    Make the caramel

In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the granulated sugar until it melts, stirring constantly until it turns amber in color. Add the butter and stir until melted.

  2. 7

    Finish the caramel

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring until fully combined. Remove from heat and stir in the sea salt. Allow to cool slightly before drizzling over the chilled filling.

Toppings

  1. 8

    Add toppings

Before serving, top the pecan smash with whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Drizzle extra sea salt caramel over the top.
