Set and Cut
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until set. Once set, cut the grits into squares.

Fry the Grit Cakes
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the grits squares until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Sautéed Shrimp

Cook the Shrimp
Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, lemon juice, and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until shrimp are pink and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
Pepper Gravy

Add Milk and Season
Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Season with black pepper and salt to taste, then set aside.
Parmesan Cream Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine heavy cream and minced garlic over medium heat. Bring to a simmer.

Add Parmesan
Once simmering, stir in grated parmesan until melted and creamy. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
