Oysters

Method

Prepare Cajun Butter

  1. 1

    Make the Cajun Butter

In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, chopped parsley, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Prepare Oysters

  1. 2

    Clean the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Use a brush if necessary to clean the shells.

  2. 3

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).

  3. 4

    Shuck the Oysters

Carefully shuck the oysters, keeping them in their bottom shells. Discard the top shells and place the shucked oysters on a plate.

  4. 5

    Top with Cajun Butter

Spoon a generous amount of the prepared Cajun butter over each oyster, ensuring they are well coated.

  5. 6

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the oysters.

Grill Oysters

  1. 7

    Grill the Oysters

Place the oysters on the grill, shell side down. Close the grill lid and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the oysters are bubbly.

Prepare Garlic Bread

  1. 8

    Make Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Mix well until fully combined.

  2. 9

    Prepare Baguette

Slice the French baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on both halves.

  3. 10

    Toast the Garlic Bread

Place the baguette halves on the grill (or in an oven) cut side up, and toast for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve

  1. 11

    Plate the Dish

Remove the grilled oysters and toasted garlic bread from the grill. Serve the chargrilled oysters hot, alongside the garlic bread for dipping.
