Prepare the Catfish
In a bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg. Submerge the catfish fillets in this mixture and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

In a separate shallow dish, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

Coat the Catfish
Remove the catfish from the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each fillet in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are well coated.

Fry the Catfish
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the coated catfish in the oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss well to combine and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well.

Fry the Hush Puppies
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
